About the Opportunity

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver quality software products for the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market.

• Actively participate in all phases of product development; from requirements, design, and implementation to testing and productizing ─ taking ownership of key components of the software architecture.

• Develop new, enhance, and maintain extensive/robust applications.

• Create, maintain, and review requirements documents, design documents, and project plans.

• Track plans and schedules for software development activities, ensuring activities are completed within committed schedules.

• Mentor junior and intermediate team members, and facilitate the use of software coding standards and current software delivery methodology.

Technical Requirements

• 7+ years of product development experience, with exposure to integrating and developing software components, and third party products.

• 5 years experience with distributed client/server products, demonstrating strong technical skills with multi-tiered architecture (preferably enterprise level and/or distributed architectures).

• Strong understanding of fault tolerant (high availability) and scalable, high traffic server systems, security, and network architectures; with exposure to network management concepts and systems.

• 5+ years experience with Java, web services and web-based technologies; including XML, JBoss, EJBs, Java servlets, and JSP Eclipse IDE.

• Working knowledge of IP Protocols; internet, web services, and related protocols and standards (e.g. SOAP, HTTP, HTML, XML, web server).

• Understanding of database concepts, and experience working with relational database products.

• Full product integration experience; including installation, configuration, API development, and systems management; with load, stress, and performance benchmarking exposure.

• 3-5 years of software development experience with JAVA, some C/C++, and experience with J2EE-based software solutions.

• Experience developing software solutions for different platforms using various operating systems (Linux or UNIX, Windows).

• Strong leadership and mentoring experience.

Operational and Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to conceptualize, architect, develop, QA, enhance and grow products throughout the full product life cycle, with an emphasis on the ongoing and incremental architecting and re- factoring of live products within an existing framework.

• Proven ability to effectively communicate design and architecture to a diverse audience.

• Strong knowledge of design patterns, re-factoring, and unit testing

• Complete understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle processes, and alternate methodologies.

• Proven ability to operate in dynamic environment in a leadership/mentoring role.

• Proven communication and relationship skills necessary to extract requirements, and work within a project team/matrix environment.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Comfortable in an open, collaborative environment.

Education

• Bachelors of Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
